MAGISTRATE – MUNICIPAL COURT
Salary Range:
$47,736 - $66,081
The purpose of this position is to exercise authority as assigned by law to issue warrants, accept pleas, receive and record fines, provide clerical support to the court, and perform other duties as mandated by applicable local, state, and federal law.
MUST BE A CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL COURT MAGISTRATE TO QUALIFY FOR POSITION

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with one year of related administrative experience. Must become certified as a National Crime Information Center computer operator. Must possess certification as a Municipal Court Magistrate. Must be eligible to be certified as a Notary Public. Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license.
Knowledge / Skills:
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration and Criminal Procedure. Skill in organization and record-keeping with a strong attention to detail Skill in the use of computers and database systems Skill in customer service and relaying information to citizens Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Ability to work independently without close supervision Ability to maintain confidential information Ability to exercise sound judgment within the scope of responsibility Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public Must be available nights and weekends for call-out rotation
