IT Network Tech II

Salary Range:  $64,043 - $88,608

Perform day-to-day tasks associated with supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting City hardware and software and to provide excellent customer service to end users with varying technical skills and abilities.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Strong technical ability working within VLAN environment, ability to document tasks, diagrams and information related to network topology​​, experience in distributed switch, wireless and voice platforms, support and Installation of LAN/WAN equipment, ability to lift and install LAN/WAN equipment, ability to troubleshoot and communicate while providing solutions to problems, ability to plan long term projects and solutions, properly document IT support, repair, and project activities using a helpdesk ticketing system. troubleshoot problems involving computer hardware, local area network (LAN) hardware, and wide area network (WAN) hardware; monitor server and backup system to identify potential problems; troubleshoot software and printing problems, set up and configure new computer hardware; install, upgrade, and configure software on computers, assist the IT Manager with the design, management and implementation of special projects as assigned, provide training to end-users as appropriate, assist with keeping the website current and up-to-date, assist with the purchasing of various technology services and products; process purchase orders and requisitions as needed, respond to needs after hours as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree or equivalent training certification in a related field with a minimum 3 years’ experience working in a managed services environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and VMWare Virtual Platform preferred.
